Instrument Rating

California weather is sunny, except at the coast in the summer months, when the marine influence keeps the coastal communities cool – and gray. Conversely, the interior valleys are hot and hazy. Each of these low visibility scenarios provide a perfect environment for training in actual IMC conditions at a variety of local airports. With IFR privileges, the pesky marine layer will no longer inhibit the number of days you can fly!

To obtain your Instrument Rating, pilots need to complete a minimum of 40 hours of dual instruction in addition to having logged at least 50 cross-country pilot-in-command hours.
